Dear Group,

I have been meaning to comment on the dry eye problems which I have been
fighting for the past 3 years. My problems were worse when I was drinking soy
shakes so your might want to do some label checking. I love instant oatmeal
with various fruit and cream combinations. If I have one for breakfast by
afternoon the effects of the soy in the oatmeal take over and my eyes are
miserable. If I eat the oatmeal for a couple days in a row the low thyroid
symptoms start up. (I recently donated all of it.)
Not all flavors have the soy additives, just the ones I like of course.

I had eye plugs put it a couple years ago and the dryness was still a
problem. I did come across a solution that has improved the problem. In a
book by Dr. Langer he lists supplements for dry eyes such as vitamin C. The
suggestion that made the most difference is the addition of Gingko and
Bilberry. Once I started taking a combination capsule of these two my eyes
could actually water and form tears. I still use moisture drops before bed.
Another benefit is the mucus membranes in other areas have improved and it
beats paying $50.00 for a tube of Estrace cream and wondering about the side
effects!

I get my supplements through Puritans Pride, you can order on line and they
have some good sales. ( I am not affiliated with them in any way.) The
Ginkgo/Bilberry supplement also has Ginseng, so if you have allergies to
Ginseng you might want to buy the Gingko and Bilberry separately.

Regarding Aspartame, it is definitely a no no for me. One glass of diet pop
and within two hours I develop headaches and muscle pain. I was diagnosed
with Fibromyalgia 2 years ago which has defiantly improved with the addition
of Armour, but I still avoid diet pop. Dr Mercola has several articles on
Aspartame and great newsletters you can get for free via email.
www.mercola.com.

Sincerely,

Colleen Witzel
