Four days ago, someone posted a website that gives patients a chance to rate doctors. I am writing to say...use those sites with caution.
I looked up my doctors. Only one was on the site....an excellent gastroenterologist, whom I've known for many years, who is well known in our area for his expertise in celiac, who saved my husband's and my neighbor's lives by picking up on stuff that other doctors missed...both needing immediate procedures or their deaths would have been imminent, who is repeatedly chosen as a "Top Doc" in several Southern New Jersey magazines......
O.K. So someone didn't like him for some reason, but the site doesn't say why, AND the process to dispute the frowny sign is complex. Rather than just letting someone add their own entry, you have to open an account on the site and write an argument for why they should remove the sign.
Personally, the way this site is set up, I wouldn't give it any credibility, and I think it may even border upon defamation of character.
