Butch,

I successfully updated the firmware, although the update didn't quite work
the way yours did.

When I came to the part where I was supposed to do the full reset, I chose
the wrong one, which worked anyway and had the additional benefit of leaving
memories and menu settings unchanged. Being somewhat cautious, I decided to
do the full reset anyway, which set everything back to factory defaults as
expected. I then started the MC2A program, loaded my file with all the
memories and menu settings, and wrote it to the radio. All my memories and
menu settings came back, and I never had to use the exported file which I
had created per your advice. I know I have the new software because I now
have Menu 111, and I'm glad I was able to keep all my menu settings. Not
sure why you got that marketing code error, but I thought you'd be
interested to know that we got slightly different results. I don't know
what will work for the rest of you guys, but you can't go wrong following
Butch's instructions.

Steve
