My problem with keeping the Heil mic, though, is that it is specially made 
for Icom rigs like the 746.  It is called the Heil ICM mic.  I think Icoms 
have some sort of a different circuit impedance in the transmit side that 
doesn't accommodate normal Heil mics.

Therefore, I don't know if my current Heil mic  will work with the TS480.  I 
actually have sent that very question into the folks at Heil Sound.

Can you tell me what the problems are with the MC60 mic when being used with 
the TS480?

The mic issue probably won't be a "deal breaker" for me, but I want to know 
fully what I'm getting into when we finalize specifics.
