Hi Buddy.
You know, it does complicate things quite a bit. I never thought that I
would go for a vanity call either--I had the original KA2DQA callsign for
19 years, and then one day, for grins I went out to see if my initials were
available as a callsign, and at that time both K2LKK and W2LKK were
available. I kind of said it over under my breath for a couple of minutes
and decided that K2LKK had a sort of ring to it.
Moreover, I've discovered that on SSB the KK on the end does a pretty good
job of getting through pileups. Invariably I'll hear the other station say
something like "the KK station, go ahead please." I guess that makes it
worth it.
