The waver fuses are better than the cartridge type.
I found this with my FT1000MP DC version.
Eventually, I took out the fuses altogether and rey on some which I put into
the power supply itself.

Be sure to check the condition of the in-line fuses and their holders.  I
had a problem keeping my ts 440 keyed and it turned out that the problem was
one of the fuse holders on the cable that connected the rig to the supply.
