It's me with the motor home, and I like your shelf idea.
My antenna is a Predator screw-driver on the rear of the RV opposite the
ladder side. I used something called a turbo-tuner to tune the screw-driver
ant with my IC718, and it worked fairly well, at least on 20 and 40. I
apparently can send the turbo-tuner into the manufacturer, and he'll
re-configure it for the TS480. Then, I thought I might be able to use the
auto-tuner in the TS480 to complete the tuning, on those bands where the
screw-driver doesn't tune too well.
Just in the thinking stages here, but again, I really like your idea of the
shelf in the RV dinette area.
