Anyone recall the Multi 2000 or multi 2700 all mode radios?  They did
have some spurious radiation problems and the receivers where not up to
the later Kenwood or Icom. =20

For that matter How about the tempo vhf One?  I had one of these mobile
for a short time and it was awesome to do mobile satellite work through
the early Oscars. =20

I also recall using SSB to listen for distant fm signals and when the
heterodyne was strong enough switching over to fm to make contacts when
the band opened. =20

Do you mean the IC502 and 202?  There was also an Ic402 which covered a
small slice of the weak signal part of the 70 cm band.
