Hi;
Sounds like a plan.

    Richard:

Well, to be honest, I think she's looking more for an donation, not because
she's unwilling to pay the money, but more because I simply think she
doesn't have it.

This is why I was saying it would be a "long shot", but as they say, you
never know.

Why don't we do this: If you feel inclined to do the cleaning and servicing
thing, and then want to consider selling it, let me know, and I'll check
with her. If a donation doesn't come through, which it probably won't,
maybe she'll have to consider some sort of a minimal price.

I [personally have three Perkins Braillers--one for home, one at the
University, and a spare that I keep as a back-up in case one of my main
machines goes down or needs servicing. My spare brailler needs a
cleaning, because it is very sluggish, but I haven't felt the need to bite
the repair bullet yet. I had actually thought of getting it repaired, and
giving it to this individual, but I really need to keep a spare on hand for
work-related reasons.

Let's keep each other posted.
