Also, Ed, it is my understanding that Dr. Spock recanted most of what he 
taught before he died because it simply didn't work.  It's as simple as 
that.  When a child does something wrong, you can't just tell him or her, 
"you shouldn't do that," and let it go at that.  They have to learn that 
there are consequences for doing wrong.  That's another thing we have 
forgotten about.
