Yes, I was taking power from the mic jack on the rig.  Used about a 1k 
resistor as a current limiter.
I can give you a text description of the circuit when I get home this 
evening.  That caused an interesting problem.  The k2 is not exactly 
kenwood equivalent wiring.
With the ts2000, dc was on pin 5 I think.  However, on the k2 it was on pin 
6.  So, I installed a toggle switch for that as well.
