>> Recalling that pituitary tumors can cause thyroid
and adrenal problems, I went online and read a little bit more about
them. Is there any link between pituitary tumors and Hashimoto's
Thyroiditis?<<

That is an interesting question. I tried to study up (via Internet searches)
on pituitary tumors because a client had that and other problems. What I
understood was that the location of the tumor and type of tumor on/in the
pituitary gland will cause different effects.

I've also read various explanations of how autoimmune antibodies are formed.
One explanation was that they were immature antibodies; another is that they
were defective antibodies produced due to a defective gene.

I wonder -- if the location of the tumor affected the biochemical process
(possibly something to do with overproduction or underproduction of one or more
adrenal hormone) resulting in autoimmune antibody production, then there might
be a connection for some people who have pituitary tumors and also have
Hashimotos.

I suspect that untreated and undertreated Hashimotos or other hypothyroid
conditions might lead to lower resistance to all kinds of things like genetically
potential cancers.

I think it is a good idea to check out for the possibility of medical
disorders that run in the family, whether or not there is a known connection between
one and another. The tests can be for "baseline" studies or for ruling out
things I don't have.

There is so much that science does not yet know, so it is good to keep
asking.
