Dear Listers and Nathan G. My questions today relate to high Armour
thyroid doses seeming to be reported only by men. Does anyone know if
dosage is gender related? I'd appreciate hearing about women's experiences
with high thyroid doses, say well above 3 grains of Armour daily, and with
what results.

Nathan G's comment about the origins of Hashimoto's being different from
that of pituitary gland tumors was news to me. I am confused about just
when Hashimotos does occur. In other words, if one carries the anti-thyroid
gene, it would be present at birth, right? I've had slow thinking all my
life, yet I was not diagnosed with Hashimotos until age 36. Until then I
took thyroid hormone simply for "low thyroid," and required constant uppers
