I'm 24 and have had thyroid/adrenal problems for about three years. A
little over a year ago, an endocrinologist diagnosed Hashimoto's
Thyroiditis clinically and confirmed her diagnosis by blood tests
indicating a very high TSH and very high antibody count. This week I
discovered that my grandmother has a pituitary tumor, and that her
first cousin has exactly the same one, and that both of their tumors
could be congenital. Recalling that pituitary tumors can cause thyroid
and adrenal problems, I went online and read a little bit more about
them. Is there any link between pituitary tumors and Hashimoto's
Thyroiditis? My impression is that the autoimmune activity of
Hashimoto's is fundamentally different from endocrine problems caused a
tumor, but could I be missing anything?
Thanks,
NG
