I wish I knew what to do. After the disastrous appointment at Children's
Hospital in Phoenix Endocrinology -- (The nurse had me not even MAKE an
appointment with a urologist because the "bungie balls" was a symptom the
endocrinologists had seen alot of) and like I said, the young fellow doctor
spent an hour taking history and was GOING to run tests for hypothyroidism.
But because I had a blood test from October (This was November) the fellow
came back in with an endocrinologist who basically told me that ALL of his
symptoms were in his head.
I had a LONG phone conversation with the fellow doctor and then sent an
email after reading his report sent to his doctor --
I have BEGGED for them to follow up I don't know what else to do. The
endocrinologist said they would follow up -- but if they won't do anything
but further testing -- I think that MAYBE I can get them to do antibody
testing -- and with a TSH at 2.4 MAYBE I can ask them to TRY him on armour?
I am at a loss. Doctor Don -- I just don't know what to do.
ESPECIALLY now that I have spent all of my money (I am also now unemployed)
following up on the psychiatric concerns they talked about. He is doing
MUCH better on that front, and doing 1000 times better since we have him on
the organic milk products -- but STILL the STUPID tests are holding him
back.
Where do I find a doctor who will treat him clinically? I have a little
over 2 weeks at this point before his surgery for his undecided testicles.
I feel like putting him in a car and driving to ANY doctor that would look
at him clinically and prescribe armour at this point.
I have had an hours conversation and a 5 page email with the endocrinologist
fellow (who DID state he would have run tests for hypothyroidism based upon
his clinical exam if we had not had his tests with us) I BEGGED them to
treat my SON and not his blood values --
He said that he would READ Journals if I sent him links. Can any of you
think of specific links that I could send him to HELP him realize how
inaccurate these tests can be -- especially with OTHER hormone issues as
well?
AAAAAARGH.
Nancy (Even more concerned at this point)
