Wow! It makes me feel grateful for the good (and great) help I've been able
to get.
I had a similar experience with an internist over the last few weeks. My
regular internist moved to another state. He was an expert in nutrition, and
did not interfere with my being on the Wilson's protocol (although I think he
was happy not to take responsibility for it). He did order tests that might
indicate whether I was overdoing the Sustained-Release T3, such as bone
densitometry and NTX Teleopeptides (the latter, I think, is to see whether one's
bones are dissolving).
When he finally moved, the internist recommended one of his colleagues, an
internist who was (supposedly) also a nutrition-expert. And what does the guy
say the first time I meet him but, "the TSH test is the gold standard." He
said that I should go see a "regular board-certified endocrinologist." As
you did, I just nodded and went "uh-huh." I also determined that I was never
seeing this doc. again. (If anyone would like, I can share some of his other
ludicrous pronouncements). Such idiocy out there!
