You should always seek the advice and counsel from your baby's doctor for
foods that are considered appropriate for a gluten-free diet.  The Celiac
Association maintains a list of foods and products on their website
(celiac.com) for individuals who require or choose a gluten-free diet. 

The US regulations and requirements for "gluten free" labeling will be
finalized in 2008.  Before then, recognized standards and procedures for all
food and ingredient manufacturers have not been established. 

Many Gerber products are not directly formulated with ingredients known to
contain gluten, such as wheat, rye, oats, barley, millet or sorghum (check
the ingredient listing on the label).  Many of the products may have
ingredients or ingredient mixtures that may contain or be processed with
other gluten-containing ingredients, such as corn, rice, etc. 

Corn and rice contain gluten prolamines.  They are usually tolerated by
people with Celiac disease and by people with wheat intolerance when the
condition/disease is exclusive to gluten.  However, care must be taken with
corn, since the amount of the prolamine decides the kind of reaction that is
likely to occur. Individuals who are prolamine/gliadin intolerant should
note there is considerable variability in the prolamine content of various
foods including corn starch and products made from cereal grains.  This
variability is one of the m any reasons why food reactions are not
consistent. 

You should always consult your baby's doctor or allergist for an appropriate
list of foods/ingredients.  Then check the list of ingredients on the label
of each specific Gerber food to see if it is appropriate for the diet
recommended by the doctor/allergist. 

Because a manufacturer may change a formulation at any time, a list is
quickly outdated and inaccurate.  It is best to check the label before using
a container of food to take note of the ingredients inside. Also, you may
