Harry,

This is a commonly-known problem with Dell laptops--or, at least, commonly
experienced by me. The only way I have found to resolve this problem is by
completely uninstalling JAWS and reinstalling it.

Subject: [VICUG-L] jaws won't startup right away after bootup

Hi all,
Well folks, here's one for the experts out there.
I use a Dell laptop, windows xp home edition, and jaws 8.0
Here's the problem. I have set jaws to start talking when the computer
starts. The problem is, after I turn on the computer, and I get the windows
music, like I should get, it takes jaws 10 minutes before it says "jaws for
windows is ready".
Can someone tell me what's happenin, and how to fix it?
Thanks for whatever help yall can give.
Harry
