Some of you might remember that the night my quadriplegic daughter died (as
a result of a seizure) I found your group to tell in the middle of the night.
Then when I wrote a short story about Elizabeth and her loyal dog who sat
with her on the couch, I sent it to you and some of you actually read it and
wrote back. Well, I just wanted you to know that a publisher has just released a
book I wrote about her and her dog. It's called, ANYTHING BUT A DOG! The
perfect pet for a girl with congenital CMV. I wrote it as an entertaining story
hoping to raise awareness for the disease that caused her cerebral
palsy--congenital CMV (cytomegalovirus). Most OB/GYNs still don't warn pregnant women
how to handle the saliva of young children. They are the majority of the
carriers of it and it is shed in their urine and saliva.
