A couple of things have worked for me in the past. Unheated honey seems
to lubricate my stool (about 3-6 TBS/day or so). High meat is a
reliable way for me to get going again no matter what time of year or
the root cause. The more raw fat I eat, the better things get;
hydration isn't working as well as lipidation in that regard. I have
noted that vegetables tend to head me into the constipation realm sometimes.

After talking to a number of people, including my doctor I've been told I consume too much fibre [since my diet is basically meat, fish, some fruit and raw veg] - I probably consume too much of one type of fibre [soluble or insoluble, I never remember] - I recently had to take some laxatives called Senokot which work quite well, but I'm hoping to add something to my daily supplementation that keeps me regular!
