My mother, who lives in Australia, told me about a study that is being
conducted in Brisbane, Australia. They are "testing whether the hookworm
infection will change the immune processes and suppress gluten sensitivity
in people with celiac disease. Outcomes to be measured will be those that
reflect the activity of celiac disease".
"American researchers have successfully treated patients with Crohn's and
ulcerative colitis using a pig whipworm (Trichuris suis)".

I am an Australia citizen (with CD & DH) who lives and works in New York
City. The study seems rather bizarre but you never know, this might be a
small shining light at the end of a very long tunnel.
