>Duties and Responsibilities
>1. Provide individualized instruction to blind students in
the
>area of access technology including but not limited to:
>a. the use of computers with speech
>b. keyboarding
>c. use of note taking devices
>d. use of the internet, e-mail, and other various adaptive
>equipment used by blind persons in employment and leisure
>e. other duties as assigned
>2. Provide instruction to several students in a classroom
lecture format.
>3. Provide instruction through exploratory learning. Find
>practical uses for technology, such as being able to access bank
>information, looking up books in a library, recipes, etc.
>4. Plan and develop a formalized curriculum in all areas of
technology.
>5. Conduct a thorough written evaluation on each student in
the
>area of technical skills.
>6. Write comprehensive monthly reports on each student
>describing progress made and goals to be completed.
>7. Assist in providing instruction and technical support to
>staff and students.
>8. Employee is expected to facilitate classes and seminars
where
>all aspects of blindness are discussed. In addition, employee

>fully participate and assist in all center activities including
rock
>climbing, skiing, camping and other vital activities, promote the
>positive philosophy of the Colorado Center for the Blind to

guidance

>Requirements: Technology Instructor
>1. College degree in adaptive technology field and/or 2 years
work
>experience teaching all aspects of adaptive technology for the
blind.
>3. Ability to plan, organize and develop curriculum and lessons.
>4. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication
skills.
>5. Must demonstrate the ability to work with a variety of people
in
>all types of situations effectively.
>6. Must possess knowledge in the use of all adaptive technology
