You don't even have to right click.  All you need do is highlight the icon
and hit your delete key, much quicker.  The screen prompt will let you know
if your are deleting an icon or a file/folder.

A clarification: you do not remove desktop icons with add-remove programs.
You remove desktop icons by right-clicking them and choosing "delete".  The
add-remove programs will remove the program itself, so be careful.

	A desktop icon is generally just a "shortcut" to the program, that 
	is, it starts the program, but isn't the actual program.  So, if you

	delete an icon, the program is still there.  You remove them via the
