Is there a time-limit on for how long items are recoverable? Or is it
solely dependent on relevant parts of the disk being overwritten?

By the way, I still haven't found how to actually retrieve the selected
item from the deleted folder yet without sighted assistance and the
mouse. When I do, I'll send it to the list. It can be a useful tool once
in a while.

Hi Steve,

I have a sneaky feeling this may be rather like the Format: Text/HTML
issue I had lately where if you use Outlook's editor, the Format choice
is in the Format menu, but if you use Word to prepare and edit Outlook
messages it moves. (To Options, I think)

I shall have to study it.

George.

Hi George,

I checked again and it is still not there. I double checked with the
mouse cursor and no luck either.

Thanks.

Steve

Strange, because it is in my Outlook Tools Menu. Perhaps you
need to expand the menu to see the item?

"Recover Deleted Items" will be greyed out unless you have
highlighted the "Deleted Items" folder.

George.

    Hi,

That feature does not seem to be in Outlook 2003. It must have
made too much sense.

A google search of the phrase "recovering deleted items
in Outlook" found this.

Recover Deleted Items in Outlook

Have you ever deleted mail from your Deleted Items
folder and then wanted to retrieve it? In most cases, you can with
Microsoft Outlook(r) 2000.

To recover deleted items:

1. In the Folder list, click Deleted Items.
2. On the Tools menu, click Recover Deleted Items.
3. Click the item you want to recover. To select
multiple items, click the first item, and then hold down CTRL and click
additional items.
4. Click the Recover Selected Items button.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Question about recovering
deleted items in Outlook

Hello everyone,

I have seen my sighted colleagues do this all
the time, recover deleted items after you have "emptied" the deleted
items folder. I am using JFW 8,

I go to the Deleted Items folder,

go to Tools in the menu,

arrow down to "recover deleted items"

Then I get the list of hundreds of items.

I go throught the list, find the item I want to
retrieve,

And then what???

I can't figure out how to move that item back
into a folder where I can open it.

Thanks,

Terri
