Hi Ray,

I've been using Word for many years, and have never seen any
option which would automatically ensure that two spaces
following a period or full stop. Indeed I have spent the
last 20 minutes or so looking through Word for such an
option.

If it was to be anywhere, I would have thought it was in the
Autocorrect options. That said, I've even tried to create a
rule for this, but failed.

The only other thing I can suggest is to look in Word,
Tools, Options, then the "Compatibility" tab. Go down to
the "Options" section and see if anything is checked that
might cause this.

George.

Subject: [VICUG-L] MS Word Question

Hello:

I was asked by someone how you can change the default
behavior of MS
Word so it only puts one space after a period? This person
wants to do
this because he has been told by a publisher that it looks
better. Any
help you can give on changing this is appreciated.

Thanks,
