Subject: Obituary - El-hadj Samb


Dear ALL,

It is indeed with a heavy heart that I wish to inform you of the untimely death of my very good friend and lead vocalist of the Libidorr Band of The Gambia Mr. El-hadj Samb.  He was also the lead vocalist for the great Ifangbondi Band of the Gambia. He played with them in many European countries, USA and in Africa. This sad event took place on thursday 2007 - 06 -07 at Kafrine in Senegal.  I invited him to come to Sweden, and he was processing his application to come to me in July 2007 next month. Unfortunately, this sad news came to me from his family at Kafrine in Senegal. I am extending our condolences to all relatives and friends of late El-hadj Samb. Also extending our condolences to Lin Diaw, Dame Diaw in Manchester U.K, Djamil Thiam in Spain, Mam Tamsir Njie, Ebou Jobarteh, Samba Jobe, Bai Jack ( Jacky ), Pascal Dieng, Yaat Mbaye, Sereign Mbacke & Abdou Khan in Holland, Saada Mbye,Tapha Ndiaye, Bas Mbaye, Ibou Gaye,Badou Jobe and all the rest of the musicians that have played together with late El-hadj Samb. May his soul rest in perfect peace.  Aameen!
