For those of you who visit resort spas... I was just reading the Feb
'07 issue of Spa magazine. There was a question in the Ask the Editors
section regarding spas that are sensitive to food allergies. In the
response, it was mentioned that the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort & Spa
in Indian Wells, California will work with customers requiring a
gluten-free diet. Yay, Hyatt! If I ever get to visit a resort spa,
they'll definitely be one I'll look into.
The editors also stated that if you go to the International Spa
Association's website - www.experienceispa.com - and click on the
heading Visit a Spa, you "can search through 2700 member spas worldwide
for select dietary offerings." I tried the search and did not find
gluten-free listed as an option; however, you CAN search for spas
offering juice/cleansing fasts, low carb, and macrobiotic menu options.
I guess we'll have to wait for more of the rich & famous to go
gluten-free as a fad before we'll benefit from this search feature!
Happy New Year!
