Kathy,

We do a song circle bit here in the Twin Cities too which is a bunch of 
songwriters and/or musicians that set in a circle.  That is a bit more 
intimidating because you know they are listening in much more intently than 
for pure listening enjoyment. The first time or two I played there I could 
hardly get by a song without forgetting words or just messing up. I had so 
few of my own songs I  had to write one about the song circle itself and 
hope I could learn some others for the next time, but now it is just good 
fun and it is fun to jam around on other folks songs too.
