Hi John;

I found that any of the ht's that have a third band like 6 or 220 that, those bands are not really used.

However, a by-product of these radios are the wide band receive.

So, the third band is a necessary evil.

I have about 5 or 6 220 repeaters programmed in the Delaware valley area and they really are not used.

  It's very quiet here, if I bought the THF6A for 220, I'd be disappointed
  because it's hardly used at all near me. I guess a few machines in RI are
  somewhat active but I can't get in to them with out an outside antenna which
  I don't have for 220. Only time I ever used it and had any fun with it was
  on vacation on cape cod and the last time I used that machine the trusty
  told me I scared the heck out of him because the last one to use that
  machine was me the year before. It was taken down shortly after that. It's
  supposed to be put back up closer to me but it's still listed as off last I
  looked. I like the band, it's too bad.
