Hi all,
Well folks, here's a duzy for ya, at least I don't know how to solve it.
I'm running a Dell 8100 laptop using Windows XP home.
I'm using JFW.
I have 388 meg of ram on it.
Here's the problem.
I put in a floppy with 106 files on it, and I was able to rename the 1st 3 files on it. However, when I tried to rename the 4th file and all after that, I get this message.
Error renaming file, cannot rename this file, the directory or file cannot be created."
The problem is, the file is on the floppy already.
Now, I'll tell yall how I'm renaming these files, maybe I'm doing it wrong?
step 1. I hilight the file I want to rename
step 2. I press alt for the file menu
step 3. I arrow down to rename and press the letter m
step 4. the edit box for rename comes up and I erase all of the old file name for example the name was 0004
step 5. I then type the new file name, for example, phone bills.txt
step 6. Then I press enter and I get that error message I just told you.
So, I only have 3 files renamed, and I'd like to rename the other 103 files.
2 questions.
1. What's the problem?
2. How do I fix it so I can rename files on this floppy disk?
thaks for any help you all can give.
Harry
