Hello:
I'm helping a client with an Outlook Express 6 problem. She's using
Windows XP Home SP2 with JAWS.
Here is what happens. When she goes in to check her e-mail, she gets
the following message:
Graphic 267 an unknown error has occurred. This is followed by all of
her pop3 server and port information which is correct. Then the error
number we get is:
0X80004005.
We tried a couple of things. First, we tried re-starting the computer
to see if this problem would clear up. It did not. Next, I went to
google and found a link to an article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
which told me this error could be caused by a corrupt inbox.dbx file.
So, we re-named her inbox.dbx to inbox.old and tried re-starting Outlook
Express. It did create a new inbox.dbx file, but still gave the same
error message.
I've not found anything else helpful in skimming on google, so want to
know if anyone has any ideas on how we can fix this problem, things we
can try.
Thanks,
