Accessibility Tester (Two Positions)
Works with web page developers and teams developing software and web-based
applications to facilitate compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation
Act. 

Essential Duties:

* Work daily with senior agency personnel. 
* Evaluate web pages and software for compliance with Section 508 of the
Rehabilitation Act. 
* Evaluate web-based applications (including DHTML and AJAX applications)
for Section 508 compliance. 
* Prepare detailed reports of findings and recommendations for developers
and agency leadership. 
* Educate web development and SQA personnel about how to test for Section
508 compliance and correct deficiencies. 
* Travel on short notice to meet with development teams without on-site
supervision.

Qualifications:

* Required: Expert user of latest version of Freedom Scientific JAWS. 
* Required: Demonstrated understanding of Section 508 web and software
accessibility requirements (36 C.F.R. 1194.21-22). 
* Highly desirable: Development experience with rich web-based technologies,
including DHTML and AJAX. 
* Highly desirable: Development experience in object-oriented programming
languages, including Java and Delphi. 
* Highly desirable: Experience in using accessibility tools to evaluate web
and software products. 
* Highly desirable: Experience with identifying problems and writing
detailed, concise reports to management.
