Jody,

The NLS, according to the news available on its Website, will continue
using its audio cassettes and players for another ten years but will begin
to phase in digital flash cartridges and players in 2008. They're in the
process of setting things up to make that possible and have already decided
on the format, standards, controls, size, and how to prevent users from
turning books into textfiles while nonetheless letting them hear how
unfamiliar words are spelled. .
