Hi Robin,
I'm going through this right now, too. I played around with Paleo earlier, but
am now finally getting serious about it.
The first three days were hell for me. I was nauseated or hungry or both
every moment of the day. The next two days were a weekend, and I spent a
lot of time laying in bed. By the sixth day I was feeling pretty good, and now I
feel a lot better than I did before the change.
I didn't notice a lot of cravings, particularly for specific high-carb foods, so
much as a desire to be satisfied in the way that eating had always satisfied
me. I was just *hungry* with a capital H.
It would have been worse if I had gone completely cold-turkey on the non-
paleo foods. I ate a small amount of dairy every day, in other words. This
helped, as well as eating a bit more fruit than I was used to. I agree with the
suggestion of eating large meals, and including lots of meat and fat. On the
third day I treated myself to a steak and afterward felt a lot better.
I kept hard-boiled eggs in the fridge, although in the earliest days they, or
most any other food I was allowing myself, hardly made a dent. Also, I noticed
that really high-fat foods made me feel a bit queasy.
Good luck!
Marianne
