when I was a teenager, my parents being very understanding thankfully, we
had 3 magnetic mount antennas on top of the mini van, and I wasn't even a
ham back then.
My dad's old 68 shevvy looked more like a porkupine then a truck most
times....i was forever either building or mounting different antennas for
the scanner, CB and LMR VHF radios on that old truck and didn't always take
off the previous antennas before sticking more on.
It was ok though, that truck had more holes in the floor boards and fenders
then it ever did from antenna mounts.
If you have more batteries and alternators in your pickup truck then a semi,
you might be a whack job.
If you look for potential antenna mounting positions, and how much current
the alternator can provide when you shop for a vehicle, you might be a whack
job.
