How about the Sentinelese people of the Andaman islands, who refuse almost 
all contact with moderns, and last year drove off with a rain of arrows a 
helicopter attempting to retrieve the bodies of two poachers the people had 
slain? Seems pretty bright to me... all the other tribes in the area have 
been colonized and nearly wiped out.
