Echinacea does not work on colds. (1 response)
Echinacea is not recommended for celiacs because it stimulates the immune system and celiac is a result of an over stimulated immune system (3 responses)
Try Oscillococcinum (carried by Wal-Mart), #1 flu and cold medicine in France and it is gluten free.
Goldenseal is an antibacterial and is also fine for celiacs
Also try elderberry, garlic as they are anti-bacterial.
Zinc is very good for colds (4 responses)
Yogi Triple Echinacea or the one with Kombucha are both good,
especially with some honey that fresh thyme has been boiled in.
(A natural anti-biotic)
You'll be getting more liquid, which is good as well.
