Wow, it's unanimous! Picazzos (www.picazzos.com) is *the* place to eat gluten-free in Scottsdale. Pizza, beer, garlic bread, desserts... They make their own pizza dough and all responders said the food is well worth the visit. They have a few Arizona locations other than Scottsdale, plus a new Portland, Oregon location.
A couple of folks also responded with the name of a Scottsdale bakery - Gluten Free Creations (www.glutenfreecreations.com). They sell products at their bakery as well as through a couple of health foods stores and some restaurants (in fact, Picazzos serves GF Creations' desserts). They bake fresh products Tuesday through Friday.
Many other dining options are available, including several of the known national chain restaurants. A list of local and chain restaurants in the area can be found on the web site of the Greater Phoenix Celiac Support Group (www.phoenixceliac.com/PhoenixCeliac_Restaurants.html). Stores in the area that carry gluten-free foods are also listed (http://www.phoenixceliac.com/PhoenixCeliac_GFShopping.html).
Thank you all! If I learn of anything new I'll be sure to let y'all know.
