Sandu NAM set free Written by Ousman Darboe Thursday, 13 April 2006 Hon Abodulie Kanagi Jawla, the National Assembly Member for Sandu Constituency, who was arrested last week in connection with the March 21 abortive coup, has been released, the Daily Observer has learnt.
According to our sources, Jawla was called for questioning in the wake of revelations made by Tamsir Jasseh, one of the coup plotters, but was let go as there was no evidence linking him with the foiled coup led by the former Chief of Defence Staff, Ndure Cham, who is still at large.
However, Demba Dem, the NAM for Niani Constituency, and Sheriff Mustapha Dibba, the Speaker of the National Assembly, are still in detention.
