I find the smaller TH-F6A is great for carrying almost everywhere I go,
which I do, but for a special event, for what ever reason, if I'm doing an
event that requires an HT, a parade or something, the bigger radios will
beat it hands down any day, with the same power. I use my Icom W32A for that
stuff. Not the most accessible radio in the world, but I manage with it.
I'll probably manage to wear it out like my tmg707A inside 3 or 4 years too.
My HT's never have lasted long even from the CB days, the THF6A and W32A are
defying that trend so far. even my old FT51 has been in the shop twice and
it's not right again but I can't put my finger on what's wrong this time,
it's probably just had it. I only keep that radio because it was a Christmas
present in 1998 from my parents just before my father died, other wise that
would have been sold when my other yaesu HT was sold and I swore off buying
yaesu equipment for ever. I hardly ever use it the last 4 or 5 years.
