I apologize for not yet summarizing the wonderful responses I got from
everyone here. I have been too sick.

The no-appetite spiralled to indigestion, heartburn, nausea, and massive
peristalstic movements that wake me in the middle of the night and I end up
on the loo every 20 minutes evacuating what feels like stuff hyjacked from a
stomach that wasn't finished digesting. Coupled with the bowel movement is
this anxiety that came out of nowhere- I hadn't been anxious like this for
15 years- it seems to be part of the roiling stomach/nausea that's going on,
then it builds and I start to panic. The panic doesn't subside until the
bowel contractions do.

I've been to my GP twice. Am on gravol, nexium, motilium (sp?), remerideron
(sp?) and ativan when the anxiety gets out of control. I also take emtec
and neurontin for the fibro, but I am virtually off the nuerontin now
because I've had such a drastic decrease in my pain level, plus, I am
sleeping better (it's all I want to do, these days). I've kept up the usual
codeine amount though because in the past, weaning the dosage down has given
me diahrea. The last thing I want is another dependency so I try to only
take the ativan when it's really bad (ideally, once this whole
diet/digestion issue is sorted out, I'd like to be completely off of
painkillers). I'm waiting for an appointment with a gastroenterologist
(sp?).

I don't know how much weight I've lost since this started but it's at least
10 lbs. I have plenty to lose so that's not making me anxious, but I am
concerned about my low iron levels/intake- I feel like I may be anemic
again. I can't tolerate the iron supplements anymore at all- they just wreak
havoc on my gut.

I (obviously) feel very overwhelmed. My muscle stiffness and problems laying
down for long have virtually disappeared off the glutin. So I know I am on
the right track in that regard. I just don't know what to think about all
these new symptoms that started so suddenly. It's been really tough managing
the rest of the family's food, too, when I am virtually repulsed by the
thought of any food. I went onto the GF diet with such hope, not realizing
what a big crash lay ahead.

Had anyone esle experienced this when they first went GF? How did it
resolve? Is there a particular gluten-free, and other potential
allergens-free, liquid diet that might be beneficial to me right now? I am
at the point where I am scared to eat anything.

Thanks again, everyone.

Darcie
