Hi Ray,

Try something along these lines.

Open Internet Explorer, choose "Tools" and "Internet
options."
Select the "Security" tab choose "Custom."

Look down the various sections for anything with the
"Disable" radio button checked, and if there is a "Prompt",
select that instead.

It may be an Active-X control which is blocked, and there
are three or more options in the list, all of which can be
changed to "Prompt".

George.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Unblocking Software Where Publisher
Cannot be Verified

Hello:

I got a call from a client with an error message I haven't
seen before and, therefore, do not know how to fix. She is
trying to log onto a web page for a company she works for.
After she puts in her password, she gets the following error
messsage: "Internet Explorer Dialog. Windows has blocked
this software because the publisher can't be verified."

I searched the Microsoft Knowledge base and I could not find
an article for this error. The client is running Internet
Explorer 6 on a Windows XP machine with Service Pack 2
installed. We got all of her Microsoft VM and Java settings
enabled in Internet explorer, and we set her security level
for the internet zone to medium. Still, no luck. Any
ideas?

Thanks,
