The hot topic on the hurdy-gurdy list this morning is where to get good 
cotton to wrap around the strings where they touch to the wheel... seems 
you can either grow your own, possibly not smoke it, or use OB tampons 
(but they only work good on drone strings and not so good on French 
instruments.) Go figure... [obligatory Histo Presto content: ancient 
instruments revived for modern usage]
