Because we celiacs have impaired immune systems leading to multiple sensitivities we often have inflammation issues to deal with (body aches, sore feet & joints, bursitis, arthritis, etc.). Well, maybe you don't but I sure do, so I'm always looking for ways to keep myself more comfortable. I've noticed years ago that sesame butter aggravates my shoulder bursitis & when I stopped eating it, my bursitis went away. I thought it was because I was allergic to sasame. Then about a year after, I attended a nutritional seminar for health care professionals in which I was told that sesame oil is the highest known source of omega 6 EFA and that when we consume too much omega 6 relative to omega 3 & 9, we may suffer more inflammation. When I heard that, I said to myself, "Hmmmm... no wonder I feel better giving up sesame." I also find I'm better off avoiding sesame rice crackers. (I sure miss them.) Anyway ... what I want to know is if any of you have noticed the same thing with sesame?
