Someone called to my attention that I said 1/2 lb butter or margarine. The correct amount is 1/4 lb. or 1 stick. Sorry for the typo.

Also, for those of you who don't use sprays, just grease the pan with your preferred ingredient...butter, margarine, oil.  I make a similar almond torte in a spring-form pan and grease the pan with butter. I prefer that to using paper linings.
