I got several replies as to what would be GF at Noodles & Company. The main
consensus was that you need to specify that you have "allergies" and the
manager will get involved and help. Here are several comments sent to me:
"We have had awesome luck with Noodles & Co. If you tell them you
have "allergies" you will automatically get a manager. I suggest going at a
time that is not the busiest and some will even check their Noodles manual.
We have had awesome luck with the Noodles in Eau Claire Wisconsin, but all
Noodles we have tried have worked well with us. Remind them fresh clean pot
and water not broth!! Good Luck."
FROM NOODLES & COMPANY:
"Thank you for the email. Currently, the only items that do not contain
wheat/gluten are the Pad Thai, beef, shrimp and cucumber tomato salad.
The noodles, sauces and preparation methods all contribute to the gluten
content of our food and substituting rice noodles will not make a dish gluten-
free.
Please keep in mind that we have a great deal of wheat/ gluten in our
restaurants and although we do our best to accommodate special requests,
we would be remiss if we did not state that there is a slight possibility that
cross-contact can occur in our busy kitchens where several allergens are
present.
We urge you to inform a manager of your allergies every time you dine with us
so the staff can take special precautions to help avoid cross-contact and
provide you with the most updated allergen information.
We hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please
let us know."
Several people said they eat the Thai Beef with rice pasta with success.
One person ate rice noodles with butter and parmesan cheese and said it was
very good.
Another person suggested I check the website, which is what I had done
originally, and why I posted the question to the list. They do not give
ingredients on the website, but instead direct you to the restaurant for this
information.
We decided not to go to Noodles today and will try our local Noodles during
Thanksgiving break. I'll let you know how it goes...
