Hi everyone,
Some of you may be interested to know that the Codex Draft Revised Standard for Foods for Special Dietary Use for Persons Intolerant to Gluten is scheduled to be adopted as an official standard by the Codex Alimentarius Commission in July. This standard has been in draft form since 1998 and has undergone many changes, especially concerning the amount of gluten allowed in wheat starch-based gluten-free foods. I have posted information about the standard at www.glutenfreedietitian.com on the newsletter page. There is also a newsletter page entitled, "How much gluten is 20 parts per million" for those of you who may be interested.
