Recently I had a typical gluten reaction at a GF restaurant I frequent. The
only difference this time was that recipe had mushrooms. This happened once
before at another place but not always - sometimes mushrooms are a problem
and sometimes not. 

I googled mushrooms and wheat and learned that sometimes they are grown on
wheat or rye straw and even wheat seeds as a growing substrate. Perhaps
there is some cross contamination when all the seeds are not successfully
removed when harvesting. I could not find any reference to this in the
archives so posted to the list in case others have had problems with
mushrooms and the possibilty of gluten contamination.
