true about the google toolbar and some apps will install it as well when 
they are downloaded and installed but they are supposed to allow you to not 
install it.

I found that when the google toolbar was installed on my computer, I had 
similar problems.
Try uninstalling that. It seems to come pre-installed on a lot of computers.
