Ken, Mike and Mag,

I read the Epic article re:RealID, and didn't find any referrence to
implantable technology, so I went to Thomas (the Library of Congress site),
looked it up there, and searched for all the permutations I could think of
that might show up for _implantable_ RFID technology, and didn't find
anything.

As the EPIC article points out, the use of RFID technology has been
included as part of the cards, but Big Brother isn't supposing implanting
them in our bodies, that I can find.

Also, implementation of Real ID has been delayed until at least 2009, as
there are major logistical hurdles that need to be overcome before it can be
done on a nationwide basis. I suggest contacting your Senators and Congress
members soon about the problems with this well before that date, though.

The main problem with Wikipedia, is that anyone can contribute to it, at any
time, and verification of material submitted is often much slower to occur.
Most universities, UW included, do not accept Wikipedia referrences in
student papers for that reason.

Here's an article from the Chronicle of Higher Education by Jimmy Wales, the
founder of Wikipedia, talking about it's problems as a source.

Kendall

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress
depends on the unreasonable man.

-George Bernard Shaw 1856-1950
